In various posts on this blog, I have consistently said “I Love Google”!!!

Here is one more reason why Google is the best company in our high tech world – Google TV. But the real question is…

Can Google TV Save You Money?

From a recent Wall Street Journal article, Google will be officially unveiling Google TV at their developers conference in San Francisco May 19-20, 2010. Google TV will purportedly convert your television into a large web portal complete with search capability, streaming video, games and much more. All that sounds great.

However, it may also provide an option to the high price cable and satellite services. If Google TV can give the consumer options of what content and/or channels they want to watch, and eliminate being forced to buy all the extra “package” channels, then I would be very excited. Not only would Google TV potentially save all of us money, but it would take television entertainment to new uncharted territory. This new television technology may change technology like never before (for the better) and I am excited!

Google Chrome versus Internet Explorer Review

When Google came out with their Internet Browser, Google Chrome, I decided to try it. Although there is a learning curve with anything new, I found Google Chrome to be far superior to Internet Explorer. Here is a brief, personal review of Google Chrome versus Internet Explorer.

First, my businesses are mainly marketed on the Internet, as a result work keeps me on the Internet for 8 to 12 hours every day. Needless to say, I need a fast and reliable browser. Internet Explorer was slow and continuously freezing up. In fact, I had so many problems I thought it was my Internet carrier AT&T. After extensive calls to AT&T, they were ruled out. By the way, I load updates when prompted.

As a side note, I have the utmost respect for Google not only for what they have accomplished to date, but for their progressive thinking. So when Google Chrome came out, I was eager to try it.

I fell in love with Google Chrome. I found it easy to use, intuitive, easy to understand and most of all fast. There was a small learning curve since they handle search right on the address bar and I had to get use to where bookmarks, page search and refresh were, but overall super simple. And did I mention fast…..I love Google Chrome.

So bottom line in Google Chrome versus Internet Explorer – If Internet Explorer been working for me, I would not have had a reason to change. I am really glad I switched to Google Chrome.

The reason I wanted to write this post on Google Chrome versus Internet Explorer is simple, I accidentally clicked on Internet Explorer this morning, realizing my mistake I clicked on Google Chrome. Google Chrome was up and I was working before Internet Explorer ever loaded. Remember I clicked on Internet Explorer first.

You know those advertisements asserting that you may qualify as a single mom for a free government grant? Well, from all I read the government does not supply grants to people, only organizations. These ads are tricks to get you to spend money. The Federal Trade Commission or FTC has warned the general public that grant offers are often tricks.

The FTC exposed that there are those who use classified ads to sell government grant info. They typically use a toll free telephone number you can call whereby they ask straightforward questions to see if you qualify for the grant. The representative will tell you their charge is for their special technique. Put simply, you will be charged a processing fee for their effort in finding a grant source. But no source will come to you.

What they are going to send is a list that contain foundations and agencies to which you must request an application for a grant. You can get this information free from the government at http://www.grants.gov. You do not need to pay for it. If you did fall for one of these schemes, forget about getting a refund – it will not happen.

In October 2009 Google announced advertisers could now buy AdWord ads on YouTube videos through the AdWords Console.

A new site at http://www.google.com/ads/youtube has the information you need to learn about the tools available to advertise on YouTube through the AdWords interface and how other AdWords customers are already having success meeting their marketing objectives on YouTube through AdWords.

I was quite surprised when I saw my first YouTube video today featuring Google ads. There were 3 ads rotating at the bottom of the video as it played. No doubt the wave of future Internet advertising.
