    What is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate Marketing is marketing someone else’s product for a commission. Affiliate programs are plentiful online and can provide you with passive income. Passive income means you receive money without doing much more than advertising other people’s products on your site.

Affiliate Marketing is a great way to make money online from home. Sometimes the most perplexing part of starting an affiliate business is deciding on a niche that is in demand and will make you money.

There are affiliate programs available for just about any product you can imagine. Affiliates agree to install a link to the product web site. The link contains your affiliate ID, so when a sale is made they know who to pay the commission to.  Since most buyers do not buy the first time they see a product, affiliate programs track the buyer for several days, anywhere from 10 to 60 days, sometimes more. That way if they come back to purchase you get credit for the sale.

How to Achieve Affiliate Marketing Success Today

The best way to succeed at affiliate marketing is to create a product yourself and offer it as an affiliate program. Creating your own product is the most important skill to master if you want to make big money online. Yes, you can make money as an affiliate,  but to make money like the Super Affiliates, you need to sell your own products as well.

In the mean time, keep this in mind; products that have been in the marketplace for a long time are not going to give you a good return. Mainly promote new products and your own products with older products enhancing your main products.

  • Steps to Setting Up a Home Based Business

Before starting any business you must know exactly what is needed. Here are the Steps to Setting Up a Home Based Business:

    1. Research what type of business you not only would enjoy, but one with enough profit potential
    2. Check your city and county licensing and zoning requirements, then make sure you meet them all to avoid future problems.
    3. Establish a routine for keeping strict records of all income and expenses right from day one. Keep all business related receipts, invoices, client records, bank statements, bank deposit slips and canceled checks.
    4. Get an accountant. Their advise is invaluable to help you set up your books and records correctly from the start. They will help you determine home based business deductions so you can plan your business expenses.
    5. To get a home office deduction on your taxes, you must set aside a particular place in your home that is strictly used just for your business. Make sure the space is relatively quiet, away from regular household noise and comfortable enough to spend lots of time in.
    6. Have a phone installed that is separate from your residential line and strictly used for business. Sign up for a mail box on the phone line to take calls when you are out or unavailable.
    7. Get a post office box to use on your official stationery and other documents.
    8. Hold client meetings in rented conference rooms or set business meetings in good restaurants.
    9. Set up a Merchant Account so you can accept credit cards.

Credit card services or merchant accounts charge a monthly fee, per transaction fees and a few other fees. If you are just starting out, you are better off going with one of the online services, such as PayPal, Amazon or Google Checkout. With these services, you eliminate the monthly fees, but pay a slightly higher per transaction fee. If you are only doing a few transactions per month to start, this is a less expensive way to go.

These are the steps to setting up a home based business. Follow them and you are on your way to success.

    • How To Write 100 Articles In Record Time

I’ve seen contests on the Internet, “Write 100 articles in 30 days”. You might think writing 100 articles in any small time period is a Herculean event, but the truth is anyone can reach this goal with planning.

Why You Should Consider Writing 100 Articles

Article marketing is the most cost effective website marketing tool available to all marketers, amateur and professional alike. There is only one other tool, press releases, that has as much or more of a marketing punch. Consistently submitting articles over an extended period of time will bring traffic to your website. The seo benefits for spreading out your article submissions consistently over an extended period of time are the links it builds organically, which is attractive to search engines.

Article Marketing is a pivotal factor to the success of your business, online or offline. However, consistently submitting articles is key to achieving long term results. Many who try article marketing give up prematurely when they don’t see immediate results. This is a huge mistake.

Consistent article writing can be a challenge. This is where the goal of writing 100 articles can help. Focus on the goal and a plan to reach the goal. When you have a plan and stick to it, you create consistency in your marketing. In following your marketing plan, you will start to see each article as contributing to the larger goal.

      How to Write 100 Articles

Select a good time frame you can realistically accomplish. Whether it’s 30 days, 90 days or 1 year, make your goal for 100 articles realistic for you. Then, space out your article submissions evenly over that time period. Here are some suggestions:

      • Create regular blocks of time set aside just for article writing.
      • Use article templates – you can find them free online.
      • Keep each article between 300-500 words.
      • Keep a small notebook with you to jot down article ideas when they come to you.
      • Re-Write each article with a slightly different spin, remember each one must be unique.
      • Use your website traffic logs to get the keyword searches that brought traffic to your site.
      • Stick with your plan.

Do what is best for you. If you like to sit and write several articles at once, fine. Then schedule the days you will write and the days you will not write.

By sticking to your goal, there will not only be personal satisfaction, there will be a huge and lasting impact on your website’s traffic. Consistency is the key. It is not hard, it just takes the discipline to stick to your goal and write articles.

      You can do it!

    • How to Get to Page 1 in Google

People using search engines typically look at just the top 10 search results on the 1st page. Knowing how to get your website to Page 1 in Google and other search engines is extremely important for your website’s success.

First, you need to get to the 1st page; Then, the top 3 on the first page to be truly successful in Search Engine Optimization (SEO).  Once there, your website has the best chance of being clicked on, hence more traffic for your site, more business and potentially more money in your pocket.

What are the Secrets to Page 1 in Google?

      • Selecting Keywords and Keyword Phrases you can dominate
      • Increase Link Popularity, get more backlinks
      • Promote, Promote, Promote
      1. Picking the right Keywords. Google will give you everything you need for free to help you find the keywords you can dominate. Type in your chosen keywords into Google’s address bar, see how many competing pages there are. Then type in the same keywords enclosing them in quotation marks. This will tell you how many competing pages there are for your exact keywords. If this shows more than 50,000 – try a different combination.
      2. Get more backlinks. The more inbound links your website has the better your site will do with the search engines. Backlinks are one of the major factors used by search engines to rank websites. This can be a slow process. There are other ways to Get Backlinks.
      3. Promote, Promote, Promote – write articles, press releases, do tele-seminars, use social media, do it all.

Ecommerce is a tough business. To succeed you need the right tools to make your Internet site a cut above the rest. Once you have a good website optimized with the correct keywords, then get your backlinks and promotions going. Every day, more and more Internet entrepreneurs are clambering to optimize their website rankings, so if you are not on top of the game, you will just get trampled on and left behind like so many failed ecommerce sites.

      • Search engines are the most widely used Internet tool to find websites. If your website is getting one hundred hits or more a day, you have a better sales potential. If you get only 10 to 20 hits a day, you may only get one or two sales, if any at all.

    • Is Paying Per Click a Better Way to Market Online?

First time Internet marketers look for ways to save money and get the most out of their marketing efforts. The question: Is Paying Per Click a Better Way to Market Online? In certain situations, the answer is yes.

      • Article marketing is an excellent to get your message out and create backlinks to your website, especially in the beginning. However, there comes a time, when you may be too busy to write the number of articles you need to maintain the momentum. One answer is to outsource your article writing, another choice is starting a Pay Per Click Campaign. Starting your pay per click campaign must be done at the right time to get the most benefit.

When we first opened our business, we wanted to get immediate traffic, so we started a Google AdWords Campaign. The first day the ads hit, we were so excited – our website jumped to the first page of Google in our industry and the phone started to ring. By day 3, we received an email from Google telling us that our website was not relevant and as a result they would not be posting as many ads.

      • NOT RELEVANT!!!!!!!!! There was only one hostel in St. Augustine, Florida, and we just opened the second one. The website was all about the hostel, the attractions in St. Augustine and some history of our nation’s oldest city. How in the world could Google decide we were not relevant? The city needed some inexpensive lodging. All the hotels in the historic district, including the other hostel, charged 2 to 3 times what we were charging. Their decision made no sense.

I started researching how Google and other search engines make their decision and realized, Websites Must be Recognized by the Internet Community as Relevant. This mainly happens through backlinks. Determined to show Google who’s relevant, I started placing free classified ads, writing articles, doing press releases and generally creating backlinks organically (free). Within 5 months, our website was back on the first page of Google and within 6 months was in the top 3 on the first page, many times number 1. Plus, we have added video marketing to the mix. Take a look at the website, The St. Augustine Hostel

      • The moral of the story. At this point, Google lost revenue we initially were willing to pay for. So they lose, we still win. However, if we were not able to keep up the momentum, I know Google would no longer see our website as “Not Relevant”, and the pay per click campaign would go forward.

Getting organic traffic and backlinks is the best way to generate website traffic. Once you have your momentum going, a pay per click campaign can keep it going.

    • Why Choose Wordpress for Your Blog

This review of Wordpress Free Blogs is exclusively for you. Trust me on this one. Wordpress Blogs are the blog of choice for savvy Internet Bloggers and should be the blog you choose.

      • WordPress blog software is presently the most popular blog authoring Web application and arguably the most prolific, because it is open source. The coding is open for developers (and hackers) to improve and customize for their own needs. As a result, the Internet is awash with customized blogs available free.

The base software is the same across the board, you only need to choose the theme or look of your blog. You can pay to have a Wordpress template designed for you, but with so many themes available for free as well as for sale, you have more than enough to choose from. Why go to the expense of paying for a programmer, when you can find exactly what you need or something close you can adjust to your liking for free.

      • WordPress is written in PHP, it’s dynamically driven using MySQL as its primary database. The blog’s content is stored in a database and retrieved by the PHP scripts to display as required on the Web pages. There is no special programming knowledge needed to add new content. A WYSIWYG editor is built into the administrative interface that resembles a word processor, so you can style the text without HTML experience.
      • Unless you need custom PHP programming, you pay nothing for the software. There is a huge community of programmers and novices who offer free themes for the taking. When you select a free theme, the programmer would appreciate a donation. With the power of WordPress, a donation of $5, $10 or even $20 is nothing compared to the value you are receiving.

Like the Internet itself, blogs are another example of the collaborative nature of the Web. Basically, an article or “post” is written which starts a discussion or “comments” written in response to the article. The topics can be anything a Wordpress Blog author wants. The editor and Administrator of the blog have full permissions to assign different levels of control to various users. The permissions based framework allows Editors, Authors, Contributors and Subscribers to work in collaboration with each in order to maintain an active WordPress blog.

      • You can use the User Interface Design of WordPress can be designed to resemble a traditional Website without any clue to the visitor that beneath the beautiful design is a powerful Web application.
