Before you invest, test the market niche viability for your business. It’s the same test whether you are starting the business or expanding and looking for new markets for your product/service. Here’s a quick assessment of the niche you selected that you can do individually or with your team:

1. Are you passionate about it? Can you see yourself serving this niche for a long time, or will you get bored?

2. Is there a clearly identified need? Is it a valuable and compelling need? Can you provide beneficial results?

3. Is there room in the market for you? Search online or offline. Find out how many people/companies are doing this. If you find a lot, you may want to dig deeper to define your own sub-niche within that niche – where your product can standout.

4. On the flipside, if there’s no one else doing it, why not? Is there a barrier to entry no one else has broken through? Or maybe you are extremely original? Or maybe you defined your niche too narrowly? Or too early?

5. To be viable, your clients have to be able to pay for your service. If they need you but can’t pay, and you serve them, then it’s charity. I had heard from a variety of different hosts that Wordpress was one of the most powerful website platforms available online. Now that I have been using Wordpress for a little over a year, I absolutely agree. Wordpress is very powerful and because of its open architecture, there are so many free themes available.

Since there are so many free Wordpress Themes, why do you need to buy a theme? So the question is – Wordpress Themes, Should You Buy Them? I would say from my experience the answer is no. Granted, I have only bought one, and to tell you the truth, I have used free themes that are better than the one I bought.

The only difference I can see is the one I bought created some unique templates that allow you to separate your posts. Cool idea, but I bet I could have found one for free that did the same thing. On the one I bought I have had continuous problems with database errors. Never had that on any of the others. And of course, since I bought the theme, I expect some support. Did I get it, not really.

So should you buy a Wordpress theme, I think you should search for free ones that will probably do the job as good or better than the ones for sale.
