• Proof Article Marketing Works

Internet and Article Marketing are passions of mine, so I am constantly testing different online media to see what works best. Making money online has been my main focus since 1997, frankly with hit and miss success until 2008. What happened in 2008? We opened the St. Augustine Hostel, Casa Yallaha. Casa Yallaha

We put a great deal of money into the Hostel and needed to see a quick return. St. Augustine is America’s oldest city and draws tourists from all around the globe, so marketing the Hostel on the Internet was the logical choice. I started writing articles about the city and Press Releases about the Hostel. Within a few months the Casa Yallaha website went from obscurity to the bottom of Google’s first page. Within 5 months we were in the top 3 on page 1, and stayed there.

But that’s not what this article is about. A few months ago, I started using Google Alerts to track how information about Casa Yallaha and our competition were being distributed around the Internet. Each week, sometimes daily, I am surprised by an Alert that a blog or website has picked up or published one of my articles. Considering I only wrote 9 articles, what better proof is there that Article Marketing works?

Most of the articles being re-published were done correctly, with our link in tact. Unfortunately, some kept the name in the article but not the link. Still, the proof article marketing works is there. Bloggers and webmasters need content for their websites, and they get it from article directories.

Just think if I had written 20, 50 or hundreds of articles. Each one would continue to spawn out in the Internet World telling our story, bringing in traffic and backlinks. Article Marketing Works.

  • Should Blog Posts be Written in a Word Processor?

I was asked recently if a blog post should be written within the blog software or in a word processor like Word. My answer, why bother.

Most blog software like Wordpress and Blogger have a spell checker and formatting tools, which would be the only reason I can see for using a word processor. It seems like extra work to write a post first in a word processor, then have to cut and paste into your blog post. One of the main reasons I prefer writing posts within blogging software is the automatic save feature. Wordpress, for example, saves a draft of your work once per minute while you are working. As a result, the post is never lost. Not something word processors can boast.

I do not know if the same issues with writing articles in a word processor apply to posts, but why take a chance. The article directories warn against writing articles in a word processor because word processors insert codes you cannot see. Those codes do not translate well into the online article directories.

So, the answer to should a blog post be written in a word processor is no!

article-marketing How Article Marketing Helps With Search Engine Optimization

First, what exactly is article marketing?

Article Marketing is a great way to market your website and services online by creating short articles – 300 to 500 words – on a subject related to your industry. This is an essential part of marketing your website to get search engine traffic.

Article Marketing is not just a terrific, free way to generate visitors to your website, but a great way to increase sales. Your visitors are targeted, they read your article, which is posted on the Internet, and each article contains a link to your website.

Article Directory Sites are becoming more popular as more articles are published.  Each article is distributed throughout the web, with your content directly linked to the title of the article. If the reader of your content finds value in what you have said, they are likely to click on your website link which creates traffic to your website.

Be careful to write naturally, and focus on readability, instead of trying to get your keywords in the article as much as possible.

Article Marketing should be an essential part of your website marketing. Just do it

                            • Freelance is a great source for quality articles

Freelancing is in vogue nowadays. Free lance services are of great help when it comes to updating and adding fresh information to your website. If the content on your website is not up to the mark it would impede the flow of traffic and visitors in your website. For that reason, freelance content is being used by many business houses and organizations, these days.

Adding relevant information to your website will also facilitate indexing of your web pages on search engines. If you want to make money online you can also choose to promote the content with master resale rights. It is a good way of starting your own business. The software and e-book that you usually promote on the internet, usually comes with a sales page. These sales pages should be written by seasoned professionals and the writing should be of excellent quality. Another distinctive advantage of master resale right is that you can resell the products and contents to your customers as well as allow them to resell the product.

On the other hand, resale rights do not allow you to do so. Here, you can resell the products but you are not allowed to transfer the selling rights to your customers. In short, a digital product having resale rights means that after you buy the product, you can keep it for your personal use but if you wish you may sell the product to another business man and keep the profits for yourself.

Ideally, for writing an eBook a freelance content writer should have writing skills and some knowledge about SEO. When you hire freelance services for your website, make sure they are search engine optimized. Content writing is basically an art and involves time and hard work. Just adding fresh content to the websites won’t do, the articles should be cohesive with the old content as well.

Sometimes there is confusion as to whether a business should develop their own content or obtain the resale rights from another person. In this case, it should be mentioned that if you have enough resource for your business it is better to obtain resale rights as it will save your time and effort.

Affiliate Program Marketing has been around for almost as long as the Internet itself, yet most marketers are not aware of the tips that will help them make money from Affiliate Marketing. Why? Because they do not realize the psychology behind the publics’ buying decisions.

How to Make Affiliate Programs Work for You

These Affiliate Program Marketing Tips will help you understand your market and improve your conversion rate.

                              • Create a simple website or landing page for each Affiliate Program
                              • Do not mention the name of the Affiliate program in your page
                              • Get traffic to your page through article writing, classified ads and social media
                              • Use action links and text links out to the affiliate program
                              • Place the new affiliate disclosure in the footer of the page

A Simple Website or Landing Page:

Placing an affiliate ad or banner on your website will do little to generate any income for you.  People today are buying less and much more cautious in what they purchase. By creating a simple website or landing page for each affiliate program that outlines the benefits of the program, or answers questions a potential buyer has, will give you a much better chance of a sale. Putting more than one affiliate program on a page will just confuse potential buyers. Keep it simple, one per page. We use an inexpensive host that provides unlimited websites and bandwidth for one low price for all our websites.

Why you Do Not Want to Mention the Affiliate Name

Unless the website you create is a product review site, it is better to list the benefits or problem solving aspects of the affiliate program to generate interest and excitement in potential buyers to get a click through. If you do this job well, your conversion rate and income will rise dramatically. You must sell the benefits first. Once they click through, the affiliate program should close the sale.

                              • The FTC now requires a disclosure on your website that states you may make money from the products you are promoting. You can get the recommended verbage online.

Promote the Website or Landing Page

Treat each website or simple landing page the same as any website, promote it. Write articles, post to classified ad sites and social media sites and get Get Backlinks.

                              Use Action and Text Links

A text link is just that, a link within the text of your page. These links typically do better than banner ads. Many of the affiliate programs are aware of the problems with banner ads and provide not only text links, but what I call action links.

An action link is usually provided by the affiliate program and asks the buyer a question. Here is the perfect example from one of our debt relief landing pages. Ahead of this link, we laid out the benefits of the program, how it works and what they could expect before we placed the link.

People working online find it difficult to get traffic to their website and as a result to make money online. An often overlooked traffic building tactic is the Importance of Internal Linking.

                              What is Internal Linking?

Building backlinks to your website is number one on the list of items search engines look at to rank your website. Having a link building strategy is obviously very important. Part of that strategy should be Internal Linking.

                              • Internal Linking is placing links on related pages to other pages within your website

A good example is having a post about backlinks where there is information about writing articles to create backlinks and using those keywords to link back to the post or posts on writing articles, thereby creating an Internal Backlink.

                              • How to Get traffic to a Particular Page or Post Quickly

Another way to create Internal Backlinks and get traffic to a particular page or post quickly is to take the original page or blog post and create several similar (but different) pages with similar names and link those back to the original page. You can change the name just slightly so they are related in topic. This is an excellent way to get the search engines to notice the page and send traffic.

I’ve seen contests on the Internet, “Write 100 articles in 30 days”. You might think writing 100 articles in any small time period is a Herculean event, but the truth is anyone can reach this goal with planning.

Why You Should Consider Writing 100 Articles

Article marketing is the most cost effective website marketing tool available to all marketers, amateur and professional alike. There is only one other tool, press releases, that has as much or more of a marketing punch. Consistently submitting articles over an extended period of time will bring traffic to your website. The seo benefits for spreading out your article submissions consistently over an extended period of time are the links it builds organically, which is attractive to search engines.

Article Marketing is a pivotal factor to the success of your business, online or offline. However, consistently submitting articles is key to achieving long term results. Many who try article marketing give up prematurely when they don’t see immediate results. This is a huge mistake.

Consistent article writing can be a challenge. This is where the goal of writing 100 articles can help. Focus on the goal and a plan to reach the goal. When you have a plan and stick to it, you create consistency in your marketing. In following your marketing plan, you will start to see each article as contributing to the larger goal.

                              How to Write 100 Articles

Select a good time frame you can realistically accomplish. Whether it’s 30 days, 90 days or 1 year, make your goal for 100 articles realistic for you. Then, space out your article submissions evenly over that time period. Here are some suggestions:

                              • Create regular blocks of time set aside just for article writing.
                              • Use article templates – you can find them free online.
                              • Keep each article between 300-500 words.
                              • Keep a small notebook with you to jot down article ideas when they come to you.
                              • Re-Write each article with a slightly different spin, remember each one must be unique.
                              • Use your website traffic logs to get the keyword searches that brought traffic to your site.
                              • Stick with your plan.

Do what is best for you. If you like to sit and write several articles at once, fine. Then schedule the days you will write and the days you will not write.

By sticking to your goal, there will not only be personal satisfaction, there will be a huge and lasting impact on your website’s traffic. Consistency is the key. It is not hard, it just takes the discipline to stick to your goal and write articles.

                              You can do it!

First time Internet marketers look for ways to save money and get the most out of their marketing efforts. The question: Is Paying Per Click a Better Way to Market Online? In certain situations, the answer is yes.

                              • Article marketing is an excellent to get your message out and create backlinks to your website, especially in the beginning. However, there comes a time, when you may be too busy to write the number of articles you need to maintain the momentum. One answer is to outsource your article writing, another choice is starting a Pay Per Click Campaign. Starting your pay per click campaign must be done at the right time to get the most benefit.

When we first opened our business, we wanted to get immediate traffic, so we started a Google AdWords Campaign. The first day the ads hit, we were so excited – our website jumped to the first page of Google in our industry and the phone started to ring. By day 3, we received an email from Google telling us that our website was not relevant and as a result they would not be posting as many ads.

                              • NOT RELEVANT!!!!!!!!! There was only one hostel in St. Augustine, Florida, and we just opened the second one. The website was all about the hostel, the attractions in St. Augustine and some history of our nation’s oldest city. How in the world could Google decide we were not relevant? The city needed some inexpensive lodging. All the hotels in the historic district, including the other hostel, charged 2 to 3 times what we were charging. Their decision made no sense.

I started researching how Google and other search engines make their decision and realized, Websites Must be Recognized by the Internet Community as Relevant. This mainly happens through backlinks. Determined to show Google who’s relevant, I started placing free classified ads, writing articles, doing press releases and generally creating backlinks organically (free). Within 5 months, our website was back on the first page of Google and within 6 months was in the top 3 on the first page, many times number 1. Plus, we have added video marketing to the mix. Take a look at the website, The St. Augustine Hostel

                              • The moral of the story. At this point, Google lost revenue we initially were willing to pay for. So they lose, we still win. However, if we were not able to keep up the momentum, I know Google would no longer see our website as “Not Relevant”, and the pay per click campaign would go forward.

Getting organic traffic and backlinks is the best way to generate website traffic. Once you have your momentum going, a pay per click campaign can keep it going.

Simply put, a Pingback is an acknowledgement from another blog. How does this happen? When you put a link in your post or article to another blog a Pingback is created. Why is that important?
