• Should Blog Posts be Written in a Word Processor?

I was asked recently if a blog post should be written within the blog software or in a word processor like Word. My answer, why bother.

Most blog software like Wordpress and Blogger have a spell checker and formatting tools, which would be the only reason I can see for using a word processor. It seems like extra work to write a post first in a word processor, then have to cut and paste into your blog post. One of the main reasons I prefer writing posts within blogging software is the automatic save feature. Wordpress, for example, saves a draft of your work once per minute while you are working. As a result, the post is never lost. Not something word processors can boast.

I do not know if the same issues with writing articles in a word processor apply to posts, but why take a chance. The article directories warn against writing articles in a word processor because word processors insert codes you cannot see. Those codes do not translate well into the online article directories.

So, the answer to should a blog post be written in a word processor is no!
